The Postman delivered some thick jams in Denver last night, and I’m here to share them with you! Check out Spafford headlining The Ogden Theatre!

Some shows are so jam packed that it becomes hard to properly evaluate them. The great thing about improvisation is that it’s open for interpretation. Not just from the artists performing but from the listeners forming their own experience from whatever emotions the music inspires within them. For the second to last show of the band‘s Colorado run, Spafford delivered two sets brimming with peak filled improvisation to an Ogden packed to the gills with midwestern Spaffnerds eager to get their chance to enjoy one of Arizona’s best kept secrets. From start to finish, the band kept the crowd engaged with high-energy focused jams and blazing guitar solos from lead guitarist Brian Moss who seems to have an endless supply of fierce licks to slay with. The energy never seemed to dip and the band fully capitalized on the moment, thrusting forward several megajams in “Backdoor Funk”, “Virtual Bean Dip” and “All In”. The sets were paced well, with some choice slower tunes (see their cover of “Too Close”) as well as the fan-favorite cover of Men At Work’s “Down Under” which was a cataylyst for the already enthusiastic crowd, bringing the fervor to a height. The encore featured the duo of “Red’s Jam” which eventually segued into the ending of “The Postman” much to the crowd’s delight. These are just some of the highlights but the true experience is the dive into each of these moments and experience them for yourself. A top performance from the Arizona quartet. Enjoy!
