Oh baby I….I got what you need…and I say it’s #MusicMonday – #FreeMusic from Grateful Junction!
Grateful Dead tunes will always hit the spot at Be On Key Psychedelic Ripple. At this point, seeing a Dead and/or Phish tribute act at the venue is as much a jamfan right of passage as traversing the steps of Red Rocks. Never a lack of insanely talented local musicians more than happy to pay tribute to the creators of the scene. Lucky for any Denver Dead-head, if you want to hear some quality Dead-tunes, you’ll never have to go far. Guitar player Nick Hutchinson delivers a solid Jerry tone alongside calm phrasing and and colorful rhythm playing, doubling his role as the Dead rhythm section. The band also featured one of Denver’s most talented keys/vocal combo players, Jessica Holloway (MLIMA / Jubilingo), who helped open-up and build jams with poignant organ work. She also loaned her powerful vocals to several songs including a strong rendition of “Sugaree”. The band also took my request for “Cold Rain & Snow” which was superb. Love that tune and it’s appropriate considering the rainy-Denver weather today. So listen to the show and enjoy!
