Do you think its any coincidence that it’s #TaperTuesday, Phish just announced Fall Tour…and I have a show from Denver’s best Phish tribute?! Maybe so…maybe not. Check out Phour Point O headlining Be On Key Psychedelic Ripple!
Another Thursday, another set of tasty Phish tribute jams thanks to the band’s weekly residency at Be On Key Psychedelic Ripple – this time around we have a killer “46 Days -> Sneakin’ Sally Through The Alley” to kick-off the first set. The latter of which contained a deep type-II-voyage into space. Riding the dark wave, the band launched into an evil “Carini”. Both jams were contrasted then by the “Bug > Loving Cup” combo of positivity, enhanced by the space funk saxophone of MLIMA‘s Zachary David Simms. He would later come up in the second set to slay the sax once more for a rocking rendition of “Julius”. The jam of the night was definitely the second set opening “AC/DC Bag” which was almost 20 minutes in length and evolved and devolved, showing off the band’s masterful communication as they traverse the long-forgotten Phish jam. The whole second set is full of type-II moments that make them my favorite phish tribute. From the “Harry Hood” to the “Mike’s Song” – the band is loose and navigate the tunes with familiarity and purpose. It’s not Phish, but it will definitely hold you over until Summer Tour. Good luck with the Fall Tour Lottery!
