It’s Wednesday and you look like you could use some funk…I gotchu. Check out Eufórquestra headlining The Bluebird Theater!
So many flavors of funk to choose from so Eufórquestra makes it easy for you and lets you taste them all. From afrobeat styled grooves to samba inspired horns with a more contemporary flavor, the set was a smorgasbord of funk. Tunes like “The Events of December 11” , “64-18” and “Backbone” all show-off super tight grooves and superior funk songwriting. All members felt constantly locked-in, from the expansive and at times swampy keys to the fiery and bold horn work to the entire rhythm section the band has a sound that organically comes together to make something bigger than itself. Their takes on classic rock tunes from Led Zeppelin’s haunting epic “No Quarter” to the Beatles psychedelic masterpiece “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” were equally impactful and brilliantly executed. Not a down moment in this mighty headlining set.
