They can run…onward….but they cannot escape the metal storm that is Kaepora performing at Larimer Lounge!
To help celebrate the new record releases of both Mom And Dad and Granny Tweed, Kaepora started the evening with a set of thunderous originals that illustrated their eclectically diverse influences, pushing the expectations of what defines the metal genre. Their songs present themselves in an incredibly dynamic fashion, leveraging their two-guitar attack to increase intensity while also finding space to drop into more delicate and nuanced progressions to help build tension and give more impact to their transitions. Songs like “Ode To The Emir”, “Squatchin'”, and “Wave Collapse” present these varying dynamics in a fierce juxtaposition that works remarkably well in both satisfying my urge to head bang and reflect on why.
Kaepora blends the lines between metal and prog-rock in a package that is as heavy as you’ll ever need, as shreddy as you could ask for, and all-around bad-ass. Onward!
