The AhhFugYeahs | 2017-11-30 | Be On Key Psychedelic Ripple, Denver, CO [SBD/AUD Matrix]

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring except for The Space Fish with some #FreeMusic for you from The Ahhfugyeahs!

It feels quite apropos to post this recording today considering the opening tune is a fierce cover of “Carol Of The Bells”. The AhhFugYeahs are a cover band from Texas that is all about high energy fun. I always appreciate a band with a name that’s fun to say. You know a band name is fun to say when the crowd continues to say it throughout the show, almost as if the band didn’t know. If you’re a fan of 90s rock, you’re pretty much guaranteed to know the bulk of the bands repertoire. A fun nostalgia trip back to a time when hard rock shared big time radio play with the mainstream. While the majority of the songs were from the 90s they also paid tribute to some of the more classic rock legends that paved the way for these alternative artists, performing solid renditions of Led Zeppelin’s vocal epic “The Immigrant Song”, the Jimi Hendrix instrumental “Third Stone From The Sun” and The Doobie Brothers’ anthemic “Listen To The Music”. I really dug their cover of Warren G’s “Regulate” which was a nod to the other popular genre of the decade, gangsta rap. If it rocks, The AhhFugYeahs seemed down to cover it. Real chill group of dudes who stayed around to check out the headliner which doesn’t always happen with bands that aren’t touring together so props to them!
