Round 1 (see a few posts down) was #Jauntgrass at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom(The Other Side) which was fantastic. Round 2 was in the same room, but this time it was an electric set. While I was thoroughly impressed with the band’s ability to jam acoustically, nothing compares to their electric improvisation. Right out the gate, the band presented us with a monstrous 18+ minute version of “Bowing Up The B Line”. The jam was swampy, it was blissful, it was soaring, it absolutely blew up the crowd. It eventually segued into a tight version of “Head Spin” which had it’s own excursion into a psychedelic tornado. If you like really weird and wacky lyrics, defintiely check out “I Foreign Eye”. “Enjoy The Ride” provided another massive segment of exploration which shifted through quirky up-tempo lyriics and deep prog jamming before coalescing into misty bliss and more psychedelic rock as it segued into “Dunes”. Another big highlight was near the end of the set when the band took on The Meters classic “Hey Pocky Way”. The tempo and tone of the whole song was very unique as the band added a flair that was very much their own to the tried and true live music staple. This entire set was fantastic through and through, not a single dull moment! Plus, this was another soundboard matrix – so the sound is great! Thanks again to Shrink for the patch!

Show Notes: This was an opening spot for Character Zero. This was the second night of a two-night run at Cervantes: The Other Side. The previous evening the band performed an acoustic “Jauntgrass” set.
