It’s #TaperTuesday so let me take you back to last Thursday for The Jauntee‘s second night / second month of their three-night / three-month residency at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom (The Other Side)!
When you hear there is going to be a Jauntee show nearby, you should always run there immediately. When you hear Patrick Harvey from Cycles is going to sit-in for a bit, you should run fast. For the second round of the their three night residency at The Other Side, The Jauntee brought what they bring best…jams! From the monstrous 30+ minutes of “Everything -> The Heater -> Everything” to the psychedelic space funk voyage that was the Patrick sit-in on “Hey Pocky Way -> Way To Grow” the band was in top form, painting sonic landscapes that engaged the audience through and through. I might be crazy, but there also seemed to be some playful set list choices. “Blowin’ Up The B Line > I Foreign Eye” (“B” into “I” letter songs), “Hey Pocky Way -> Way To Grow” (“Way” into “Way”) and “Dirty George -> Dirty Job” (“Dirty” into “Dirty”). Maybe I’m stretching it but you also had “Everything -> The Heater -> Everything” which pretty much encapsulates the set, everything was THE HEAT! What does this all mean? Are The Jauntee divination masters of jamdom? Can their jams control the weather? Probably…But I can for sure tell you this set is a heater, through and through. Enjoy!
